Karen began art school training after returning from a trip to Europe as a history student in the summer of 1972. After seeing scores of amazing paintings, she was hooked.
She supported her early art goals by working in graphic design, teaching and illustration. Her more dedicated painting work began in 1997. She began her national exhibitions from 2000 through present. Currently she exhibits and sells her paintings at Osmosis Gallery in Niwot, CO, Bill Hester Gallery in Santa Fe, NM and Gallery at Studio J in Denver, CO. She also sells art from her own website and Etsy shop called Shimmertown.
Karen operated an art gallery in her hometown of Niwot. Colorado, from 2004-06 where she also taught drawing and painting.
